Itinerary
Exclusive morning tea with wildlife
Our early exit from Sydney at 7:00-7:30am allows us to miss the rush hour traffic and get out of the city before the other tour operators. Our first stop is at the Australian Reptile Park, where in a delightful setting surrounded by kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, reptiles and more, we enjoy morning tea/coffee along with lamingtons and ANZAC biscuits (RCT tour). This is an exclusive part of the day no other operator provides!
Learn the history of the Convict Trail & Wollombi Village
Leaving the Reptile Park, we turn away from the Freeway and travel on sealed roads through the Yengo National Park. Enroute we view several sections of the original convict built Old Great Northern Road. We then travel through Wollombi Village established in the early 19th Century - a wonderful example of the small colonial rural townships of this era. We enjoy a stop at the tavern for a tasting of the infamous Dr Jurd’s Jungle Juice.
Wine tasting at boutique wineries away from the crowds
Throughout the day, you'll have the opportunity to taste over 40 of the best Australian wines from up to 10 wineries. Our unique tour allows us to taste all these wines from 3-4 venues ensuring you have more time actually tasting wine, and less time driving from one place to another.
Gourmet lunch and cafe options
Our lunch destination is the beautiful Hunter Resort. Here we enjoy a relaxing tasting plate lunch, accompanied by a selection of 4 wines especially chosen to “marry” with our lunch (RCT tour). Alternatively, you can purchase your own lunch at the cafe (JWT tour).
Cheese & chocolate tasting included daily
We also include a formal cheese tasting experience, and there's even time for chocolate tasting where you can indulge in the local flavours! We depart the Valley at approximately 3.30pm and return to Sydney along the freeway to arrive back at your hotel at approximately 5:00 – 5:30pm.
