Day 1: Sydney – Eaglereach Wilderness Resort (L)

Hotel pickups commence at 7:30am
  • Morning tea at Calga Springs Sanctuary Enjoy uncaged native animals in a unique Australian Bush setting while having morning tea with fresh baked muffins.
  • Convict and Pioneering history View several sections of the original 1820 convict built Old Great Northern Road and travel through the historic Wollombi village, established in the early 19 th century and a wonderful example of the small colonial rural townships of this era. We pause to taste “Dr. Jurds Jungle Juice” and have a short look around the village.
  • Visit Hunter Valleys’ best boutique wineries Sample up to 30 premium Hunter Wines at three boutique wineries, some of which are not available anywhere else in the world. Where possible, the winemaker will proudly present his product.
  • Wine and food appreciation Enjoy a tasting experience with an exotic selection of food types matched with four premium Hunter Valley wines. Hand made chocolate and cheese tasting included daily.
  • Transferred to your accommodation At 2:00pm, you will be transferred from the Hunter Valley by luxury vehicle to Eaglereach Wilderness Resort. Nothing will prepare you for the breathtaking views and standard of accommodation here.

 

DAY 2: Eaglereach Wilderness Resort (B, D)

  • Explore the beautiful wilderness of Eaglereach Eaglereach is a nature based private wilderness resort that has 1000 acres of natural wilderness which is home to a variety of flora and fauna. It has remained a haven for hundreds of Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Red Necked Wallabies, Wallaroos, Echidna’s and many other Australian Native Animals. Birdlife here is extraordinary and we commonly see King Parrots, Eastern and Crimson Rosellas, Wedge Tailed Eagles and many dozens of other Australian Birds.
  • Participate in numerous activities Activities offered at the resort include walking, horse riding trail rides, mountain biking, tennis, swimming in the salt-water rock pool, yabbying, fishing in the freshwater lake, and barbecues. Eaglereach has its own restaurant 'Treehops' which has large verandahs and a wine tasting area. Awake to the splendour of the valley views and enjoy coffee in your room or out on the balcony.

DAY 3: Eaglereach Wilderness Resort – Port Stephens – Sydney (B, L)

  • Port Stephens Dolphin Watch Cruise After breakfast, you are collected from Eaglereach at 8:15am and cross the Hunter Valley through the historic townships of Paterson and Raymond Terrace. At Port Stephens, we board the vessel for a 2 hour dolphin watching cruise. At the completion of the cruise enjoy a BBQ buffet style on board at the Marina before being transferred to the Hunter Valley to connect with your return transfer to Sydney at approximately 5:30 – 6:00pm.

What to bring and wear: This tour is informal and designed for your enjoyment, relaxation and knowledge of our fragile eco-systems. Please wear casual clothes, good flat walking shoes, a hat, rain coat if rain is predicted and swim suit for the hot tubs and Port Stephens. Sunscreen is important and we would recommend you pack a sweater just in case! We would appreciate you brining only the clothes and personal needs for the 3 days of the tour - these should be carried in a small bag suitable for a short duration (additional baggage can be stored in your Sydney Hotel baggage room until you return). Camera and film.

***Important Information - Eaglereach Accommodation comprises a variety of Australian Homestead Style Lodges along with the newly opened Jindalee Resort Rooms.

Tour A199 - In relation to this tour we will utilise a 1 bedroom Lodge. Our guests have their own tastefully appointed bedroom with ensuite/connecting bathroom plus use of the remainder of the Lodge facilities which are inclusive of a fully appointed kitchen, spacious lounge and dining areas and extensive verandahs/balconies with magnificent views. Guests are issued with a Safari Buggy on arrival which is their transport on the property. A valid driver’s license is required.

Tour A199J – In relation to this tour we will utilise a resort room in the Jindalee Resort Complex. Our guests have their own tastefully appointed bedroom with ensuite/connecting bathroom. All Jindalee Resort Rooms open onto a large common guest area containing a 10 person Outdoor Spa, Lounge Area and Pool Table. The Common Area opens onto a large deck with Wilderness Views. NO Buggy Hire Is Included – buggy’s are available for hire at guests own expense.

DEPARTURES: Daily with minimum 2 guests subject to accommodation availability.

TOUR PICKUPS: Tour pickups from all Sydney City Hotels from 7.00AM and returns to hotels approximately 6.00PM on the final day
Cost: Code: A199 – AUD 1185.00 per person twin share
          Code: A199J – AUD 978.50 per person twin share

Includes: Return hotel transfers, 2 nights Lodge accommodation at Eaglereach Wilderness Resort, 2 x continental breakfasts, 2 x lunches & 1 x Dinner, Safari Buggy for transport at Eaglereach Wilderness Resort (Tour Code A199 only), Port Stephens Dolphin Watch Cruise and all touring as per itinerary.

What to bring: Casual clothes, a jacket, comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunscreen are advisable. All in one small suitcase or bag and don't forget your camera! A day pack can accompany you in the coach.
